Causes of Comas
By Dave Kettner
Coma is a state of mind where the person becomes unconscious due to an accident or an illness and this state of brain may continue for a day, a month or for several years. The person having this state of mind can’t be awakened even with great stimulation and no cure has been developed to recover a person from this state of mind referred to as coma. When a person is in he/she will not respond to any noise or sound or any activity. In coma, the person’s brain does function but at its lowest level of performance. The most common causes of can be:
1. Severe injury caused to the brain.
2. infections affecting the brain directly
3. brain stroke
4. A major accident or a major setback to mind.
There are some drugs that can also be the cause of coma. Below are few of the drugs, toxins or meditations that can be the possible symptoms of coma.
Clopine, Clozaril, Leponex, Minirin, Octostim, Stimate, etc.
Also, there are certain interactions of the drugs, toxins or medications that can cause coma. Possible interactions that causes are:
1. Diabinese (Chlorpropamide) and Alcohol interaction
2. Cibalith-S interaction and Aldactazide
3. DiaBeta (Glyburide) and Altace (Ramipril) interaction
4. Fluvoxamine
and Apo-Selegiline interaction
5. Cibalith-S interaction and Bumex (Bumetanide) interaction
6. Luvox and Carbex interaction
7. Vivactil and DiaBeta interaction
There are many other metabolic causes of and some of them are mentioned below:
1. Decease in supply of oxygen that is required for the accurate functioning of brain.
2. Use of drugs or toxins that can reduce the performance level of brain resulting in neuronal dysfunction or coma.
3. Change in chemical level of brain mainly due to seizure that causes electrical derangements.
4. Alcohol, overdose, infection, deficiency of oxygen are other causes of coma.
5. Other substances that cause include ketones, ammonia or carbon dioxide.
6. Wrong treatment of a person suffering form head injury or overdose of toxins or drugs in a person’s body may cause coma.
Thus, there are several causes of and this state of mind where the mind reaches the lowest level of performance has no cure.
Summary:
Coma is a state of mind where the person in becomes unconscious due to an accident or an illness and this state of brain may continue for a day, a month or several years.
